Review by The Sheriff

Robert Horn’s review of this CD has moved me to write my review as well. I hope that seeing two rave reviews in a single issue of the Bluesletter will convince you that this recording is as good as we claim.

Bob’s colorful review is well justified - raising the dead is in the right ballpark. This CD has been in my car CD player for a year and has never failed to bring a grin to my face.

Everything about this CD is top drawer and there is NO FILLER material. You will listen to every cut and never even think about skipping ahead or back.

What’s so good about this album? Everything!
Horn arrangements - killer!
Choice of material - excellent!
Vocals (Tom Lavin) - top notch
Musicianship - every instrument superb, tateful, understated
Studio production - none better

For details on the formidable background of this band and its members, see the September 2002 review of e thCD by our Canadian correspondent, Diane Wells. It can be found at www.wablues.org in the Arhives.

These Canucks are really tight and, man, do they swing! This CD is among the best swing/jump recordings I have heard. It will kick your ass! Buy it!
